In the 25 years since he founded the creative editing company, Chomet Editing, Michael Chomet’s strong creative skills and solid technical expertise have served him well. A master of both storytelling and graphics, Michael is an Emmy Award winner and four time nominee. He has lent his considerable talents to numerous projects including The Making of Miracle’s Boys (Noggin), a half-hour documentary on the mini-series directed by Spike Lee and LeVar Burton; Our Heroes, Ourselves, hosted by Marlo Thomas (Lifetime); Michael Moore’s half-hour documentary-style entertainment series The Awful Truth (Bravo); The College of Comedy With Alan King series for Great Performances (PBS); IMAX trailer for Michael Jordan: To the Max; the Emmy nominated Act Against Violence (PBS); Reading Rainbow (PBS) for which he received four Emmy nominations and a win; Working Actors for “The Egg” (PBS); ACE nominated Alan King: Inside The Comedy Mind, sixty-four half-hour interview shows (HBO-Comedy Channel); seventy-five promos for The Cosby Show (Viacom); The Guys (PBS), about the Broadway production of the same name starring Sigourney Weaver and Bill Murray for “The Egg” (PBS); thirteen half-hour episodes of The Ben Stiller Show (MTV); All God’s Dangers for American Playhouse (PBS); and the International Monitor Award nominated The Autobiography of Bobby Bitman, a comedy special directed by Eugene Levy (Cinemax).
In addition, Michael’s contributions to client projects have earned numerous CINE Golden Eagles and Telly Awards, the New York Festival’s International Film and Video World Medal, an International Film and TV Festival of New York Gold Medal, the US International Film and Video Festival First Place Gold Camera Award, an International Association of Audio Visual Communicators Gold Cindy Award, a Gold Hugo Award, the Communicator Crystal Award, and numerous other Emmy, ACE and international Teleproduction Society nominations.
Chomet Editing provides three Avid Adrenaline Suites with over 10 TBs of shared storage; real-time MPEG encoding; an FTP site for up/downloading source materials, and off-site viewing of edits.
Michael Chomet earned his Bachelor of Arts for the New York University Film School.
