Vern Oakley has been a producer/director of television, film and theater for over 20 years, and is President of the film and video production company, Tribe Pictures, in Chatham, New Jersey, with whom Jon Huberth has co-produced many films for colleges, universities, and non-profits.

Vern has been a producer/director of film and video for a variety of clients in a wide range of businesses: Financial (Dreyfus, Dean Witter, J.P. Morgan, Chase), Pharmaceuticals (Pfizer, Immunex, Roche), Consumers (American Brands, Clorox, Miller Brewing), Technology (AT&T, MCIWorldCom, Commodore, United Technologies, Lucent), Transportation (Continental Airlines), and Education (Princeton, Kenyon, Swarthmore) co-produced with Jon Huberth.

His first independent feature film, A Modern Affair, stars Lisa Eichorn, Stanley Tucci, and Tammy Grimes and is distributed by Columbia TriStar. His next feature will be shot on location in Brazil.

In his fifteen year association with The International Film & Television Workshops, Vern has assisted and taught with Vilmos Zsigmond, Laslo Kovacs, George Schaefer, Barry Primus, Peter Warner, Michael Pressman and John Korty.
